Go for the tried and tested Associate Membership of the Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers(AMIETE), details on www.iete.org. You can also check if IGNOU (www.ignou.ac.in) plans on offering such a programme. To confirm whether any university would be valid, you need to check whether it is listed as recognised for distance education on www.dec.ac.in, the website of the Distance Education Council. You can also check with the HR department of your organisation about the correspondence or non-formal engineering education they accept for graduation in electronics and telecommunication engineering.

Many institutions allow admission to M.Tech even without a valid GATE score under the following two categories : a) Such candidates who may have scored high grades in their B.Tech. b) Such candidates who have been sponsored by an industry/Institution etc. However, the criteria followed by each of the institutions may vary and you should go through the notification of each of the college to find out such institutions that may allow admission without a GATE score.
