i am engg. final year(ECE) student. i want to go in vlsi field. whether i should go for a m.tech or a short term diploma/certification in vlsi. what do you suggest?

In the present world of MNCs and globalisation, VLSI is Industry specific course that prepares Engineers for specific Industry. With the growing demand of such engineers the scope is good for a VLSI certificate holder. SO, my suggestion is go for VLSI, enhance your skills. There would be time to enhance your academic qualification later.

I am a student of class XII with PCM and computers. I want to give IIT JEE. Please tell me the age limit for IIT JEE and is it necessary to give IIT JEE this year when I have to give my board exams. My date of birth is 11-05-1989?

IITJEE is conducted for admission to seven IITs located at Mumbai, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Chennai & Roorkee; IT BHU, Varanasi and Indian School of mines, Dharbad for undergraduate courses. The eligibility requirement is 10+2 with PCM with at least 60% marks in aggregate (55% for SC/ST candidates). Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after Ist October' 1982 are eligible for IITJEE, 2007. There is age relaxation by five years for SC/ST candidates. Candidates who join any of the above mentioned institutes are not permitted to appear in JEE in future. You may have two attempts to appear in JEE. Each of the three papers physics, Maths, Chemistry are objective type in nature designed to test comprehension and analytical ability of the candidate and of two hours duration. However, it is suggested that you may check up the information when the ad appears sometimes in October. Besides IITJEE, you may also appear in All India Engineering Entrance Exam. Rspected sir/madam I m yuvaraj i have completed my b.tech in(EEE) stream (2003-2007)and i have qualified gate 2006 examination with a rank 4346 and m a reserved candidate (scheduled caste) can i get a seat in india's top college's like IIT's and NIT's please can u give me some informaiton abt the admission process.and can i apply for 2008 admissions using 2006 gate score card.

Details of cut-off marks or selection criteria would be available from the different institutions. It would be a good idea to apply and get to know your prospects rather than analyse theoretically because other factors beyond GATE would also count. If you have gone through the GATE prospectus on http://iitb.ac.in/gate; http://gate.iitkgp.ac.in, you should know that GATE score card is valid for two years. Hence, your GATE 2006 score card would be valid till March 31,2008.

I have completed my s.s.c.in 1998with 76%,12th standard in 2000 with 54%,B.tech with 57%.And now I am doing M.tech.so,what will i do next please give me suggestion because i have less marks is it eligible for companies?

If your academic record is not improving, then it would be advisable to focus on getting into the job market after your M Tech. Fortunately, with a post graduate qualification you may explore a variety of work opportunities related to your discipline including research, teaching and allied work. If your academic record limits your reach in big organizations or companies, it would be advisable to focus on smaller organizations in the early stages, build up your work experience and then move laterally into better and bigger organizations.
