Finance-MBA
I AM MBA (FINANCE) SHOULD I PREFERABLE THE COURSE OF COMPANY SECTRIES

If you are looking for the knowledge imparted by the Company Secretary's course (www.icsi.edu), then you could pursue the CS course. However, MBA by itself is a professional course that offers access to a variety of job opportunities, so you really need not pursue any additional courses after the MBA.

I completed MBA in Finance, I want to know the additional course which add value on my resume. I am confussed between doing CFA or ICWA? Please advice.

You already have a masters degree. You need not to take another. Anyway, do not get confused. Either of the two would be a value addition on your resume. (27.11.2008)

Dear sir, Please suggest me the career option after doing MBA(Finance) from Distance learning.

Distance learning does not offer placement. Hence, prospects of placement or career profile after MBA Finance distance learning would depend upon the background of relevant work experience in the field of finance. Essentially, this means that if you plan to take up MBA Finance through distance learning, then your priority should be to look for a job in finance and use this background to pursue the MBA through distance learning.

I am student of B.Com 2nd Year and I want a career in 'Finance' but I am confuse whather I am do MBA(Finance) or do CFA or do Investment Banking. So, Suggest me which is good career which give me Job Opportunity+"Higher Sallary Package". And also suggest me a good Institutes(Insitute must have a good Placement Record).

MBA in finance from a reputed business school would be your best bet to fulfil your aspirations. The list of prominent business schools is usually published by various business journals and dailies at this time. You can also consider CFA (Flexible Learning) if you take up a finance related job after your graduation. However, in this case, there would be low probability of placement from campus. The important thing is for you to be sure that you have the right skills, abilities and attitudes for a career in finance.

I have done B.Com(Pass) and Full Time 1 year Executive Secretarial Practice Course from YWCA of Delhi. I want to do MBA through Distance Education. In my options of Institutes I keep ICFAI, Tripura, IICT, Lucknow and Symbosis. I don't want to do from ICFAI bcoz it is very costly and has 42+papers which is too much but benefit of ICFAI is that it provides Degree and all other institutes provide Diploma but I know I will not get much time to study as I am preparing for entrance exams for Govt. job as well as taking shorthand & typing class for Govt. job. I also dn't want Symbosis bcoz it has online exams & I dn't like that. Now only IICT, Lucknow is left. IICT is not UGC recognised. It is autonomous and non-profit making institute established in 1997 by Sapt Rishi Society for Social & Educational Development, an organisation registered by Govt. under S.R. Act 1860.IICT is regsitered member of FIEO (set up by ministry of commerce, Govt. of India). Is my decision of IICT, Lucknow is right or not? Is the UGC recognisation of Institute plays an imp role for taking good job?

Before arriving at a final conclusion regarding the status of the institute, it would be preferable to put the question direct to the institute itself and ask them the details of their recognition status and if possible, documentary evidence to support the same. You may contact : Co-coordinator/Director of IICT. Phone Number of IICT for admission related enquiry :- 0522-2766456 , 9415101772 , 0522-6545285. Sometimes the websites of AICTE, UGC don't show the latest updated status and it would always help if cross checking is done with the institute and UGC/AICTE directly.

i'm a student of professional course,BBA.what are the various courses which will enhance my development, capability and job profile in human resourse and administration(personnel)except MBA in human resourse management

The obvious choice after BBA is opting for postgraduation - an MBA. Having a prior knowledge of different aspects of management, BBA graduates often find it easier to crack MBA entrance exams, as compared to commerce graduates. After completing your BBA program, you also have the option of joining as a Management Trainee/Executive Trainee in any of the following sectors: Banking, Consultancy, Finance, e.g.: Citibank, HSBC, etc. FMCG and Consumer Durable companies, e.g.: HLL, P&G, Marico, etc. IT companies, e.g.: Infosys, Wipro, Satyam, Microsoft, Compaq, etc. Advertising agencies, e.g.: HTA, Lintas, Mudra, O & M, Leo Burnett, etc. Since you are not interested in MBA, other post Graduate Courses through IGNOU or leading universities may be considered.

i am pursuing pgdca from a college.i wants to do m.b.a(it).i have graduation with arts(55%). what is career prospects in mba(it). i wants to purse mba from punjab. i will take edu. loan i belong to sc .any bank or gov. give edu loan for sc students on low %rate.

MBA(IT) should be a good option. Regarding the terms and conditions governing educational loans and concessions to SC students, you have to approach the different banks or access their websites to get the details. You may also visit the website of Ministry of Social Justice to find out the various welfare schemes being run by the Government for SC students and many of theses schemes also include provisions for concessional loans or subsidy or scholarships etc.

Please reply at your earliest possible convenience. Dr. Reena

Most of the notifications for PO exam are published in Empoyment News. Please keep on reading the same for getting the requisite information. MBA through distance learning whether through ICFAI, Tripura or any other credible and recognized Institution should certainly help you in getting a good foothold in the banking system. However, please ensure the status of the recognition of an institution by logging on to www. aicte.ernet.in or www.ugc.ac.in.

i have completed post graduate programme in business management from AICTE affiliated institue having specialization in finance and marketing(full time) ,i would like to pursue course in banking or finance in distance learning which would be supportive to my mba and career.pleasehelp me to know the management institutes or other institutes from where i can pursue course in distance learning?....(SAIKAT MITRA)

Since you already have a full time professional qualification in management with specialization in management and finance, you now have to use work experience in the banking or finance sector to move ahead. However, if there are specific areas of knowledge you wish to focus on, review the options offered by the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (www.iibf.org.in). Indicative example.

I have completed my BA (Eng) from DU correspondence. Now i want to pursue MBA, Can u tell me what field of specialisation i should take , which has scope in future, or what are other options i could go for after an hons degree in English?...... (Jyoti Ramakrishnan)

There are no specializations in MBA targeted at the graduates of different disciplines and subjects. Your choice of specialisation should be based on an understanding of the demands of each specialization, the nature of work each could lead to, your future plans and keeping in mind your strengths and personality traits. Focus on what you are good at and what you could do well in and you should find the decision easy to make. If English Hons as a background is indicative of strong communication, presentation and analytical skills, then marketing, HR or communication management may be considered. However, this is just a rough assessment.

I am pursuing a B.com Pass Final year correspondence from Delhi university. I am doing a job of Medical Transcription for 2 years, but now as I completed my second year I leave my job, and I want to make my carrier in Finance so that I can enter in the stock market confidently. For this I want to ask some questions, firstly I want to know that is my correspondence degree becomes a barrier in my higher studies such as MBA finacne or CFA or Master of Science Finance(MSF). Secondly I want to know that for making carrier in Finance and stock market which option is best for me MBA finacne, CFA, or MSF or to have combination of CFA and MBA finacne. I also want to know that to take addmission in reputed MBA institue what percentage in graduation would required as due to my job I don't have very good marks in my I and II year, but I have cleared my both semisters. Sir I wait aggresively for your reply?...... (Abhishek Chauhan)

Correspondence degree shall not become a barrier in your studies since admission to a MBA degree programme is normally on the basis of Interviews, Group Discussions etc. while the basis eligibility required is Graduation. You should proceed step by step. You may enroll for CFA while pursuing a MBA degree depends upon your ability to clear the MBA entrance exam. The general percentage requirement for admission to MBA programmes varies from 50 to 60 % depending on the condition stipulated by the concerned institute.
