The career prospects for engineers are as good as in any other industry employing engineers. Though there are fewer number of enginers employed in this field but the pay is good. There are many BPO companies in NOIDA, Delhi , Bangalore and elsewhere. You may contact BPO companies near you.

sir, i have some serious worry about my carrier.i am not clear what to do.i got 55% in 12th.i want to do mca,i am doing bsc2nd(pcm)what %should i require to do it at some good institution.i reside in gondia (mah.) at the same time i thought to go for railway recr't. what should i do.i belong to open catagory.

If you are not very academically inclined, it may be better for you to consider jobs open for graduates through the competitive selection process of the Railway Recruitment Board, Staff Selection Commission. UPSC, and try for entry into the Indian Coast Guard, Defence Services, etc. The minimum percentage for being eligible for MCA programmes may vary between 50% and 60%. There would be a competitive entrance test.

I have done BCA and MCA from IGNOU (59%). I want to do M.Tech. Can I take GATE exam and persue for M.Tech in Computer Science? What negatives I might face due to IGNOU-correspondence course I have done?.....(Abhishek Pandey)

The requirements for being eligible for GATE are Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture/Pharmacy OR Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent. Nothing further is mentioned. You can verify further by going through the brochure of GATE given on www.iitb.ac.in/gate or www.gate.iisc.ernet.in or www.iitb.ac.in/gate etc. Excellent GATE score and a good academic background would be necessary while applying for M Tech in prestigious institutions. The distance education issue would not be that significant because candidates with qualifications obtained through examination like AMIE are also recognized for GATE application. However, contacting institutions for M Tech directly for advice would be advisable.

Sir,i have just appeard for 12th commerce board examinations and i m intrestd in going in computer's field..so, i want sum information on Doeacc course and is it advisable to do..and what are the future prospect..in this course.also, is Bsc.I.T still..in demand..can i opt for Bsc.I.T along with Doeacc and then go for M.C.A...will that be a good combination which can help me further in a bright career ornot? Please guide me with your valuable information as soon as possible.. ....(Paulomi Pandya)

DOEACC course details are available on www.doeacc.edu.in. The various levels of training and their employability are outlined on the website. The higher the level of training, the better would be your career prospects provided you have also performed well in the examinations. DOEACC can lead upto MCA level. B Sc IT has certain career prospects, but MCA from a prestigious institution would be the best. You should not try to do so many courses together. Plan for a full time B Sc IT or BCA if you have studied Maths till class 12th and then you may pursue MCA or opt for DOEACC courses.

sir, i have completed my graduation from delhi university in bsc(hons)computer science.i will enroll for full time MCA from i.p university.what i want to know is wheather i can enroll for PGDIT(MBA diploma) from symbiosis(distance learning) side by side?Is it legal? Will a company pay me more as i start off my career with these two degrees in hand? And which according to you would be the best institute for mba(correspondence)?..... (nikhil kumar)

You would be doing MCA as a full time programme expecting it to lead to your placement directly in the industry. Being a demanding programme it would not be advisable to consider a distance learning programme with it, even if it is legal. A company might prefer someone with additional education, but a management qualification through distance education without relevant work experience would not necessarily give you any significant advantage. Trying to do both could compromise the quality of your MCA performance. Recruiters would be most interested in an excellent MCA record, in addition to your prior academic achievements as also the projects and internships during MCA. You could think of MBA in IT or similar programme while working in software to add value to your career prospects.

sir, i m a plus two student with Bi.p.c back ground .i would like to take B.C.A COURSE. Shall i apply for that course ? Also tell me how to apply.and also tell me good colleges in andhra pradesh?..... (vinod)

Applying for BCA without having studied Maths is actually not advisable. However, IGNOU does offer the option of BCA provided the student completes the required Maths papers in the three years duration of the programme. You may locate study centres of IGNOU in Andhra Pradesh from www.ignou.ac.in. For other Andhra Pradesh based options, survey the options under Andhra University(http://www.andhrauniversity.info/), and Osmania University (www.osmania.ac.in) , to name a few options.

plz tell me out of post gradjuate diploma from cdac in vlsi or M.Tech. in VLSI from any university which one is better from career point of view?..... (Manjeet)

You have to define the purpose of contemplating higher education. If the priority is direct employment then you have to compare the programmes and institutions offering them from that perspective. In the overall analysis, M Tech is comparatively the more comprehensive programme offering wider opportunities.

I am a MCA graduate. I need a government post. I am looking for the suitable post. you have any idea, please let me know. It will be very helpful for me.

If you are the one looking for a job, then you should be tracking newspaper advertisement for recruitment, checking with various job sites because you need to be proactive. This is a career counselling forum, not a placement service. Government jobs, for the most part, are advertised in Employment News, so I suggest you keep track of the issues and peruse them carefully. Most banks of late have been inviting applications from MCAs in specialist positions.
