I have done BCA and Now MCA I want to apply for some multinational company for job or I am desperate to go abroad can you suggest me as I have no such source and guidelines?

After completing your MCA, you may apply for suitable posts in MNCs. You may look for press advertisements in dailies. Even big corporate houses or well-known organizations pay handsome amount. After gaining some experience, you may get a suitable position and also get a chance to go abroad for training or employment. I there is a placement cell in your institute, you may get placement assistance from there too. MNCS approach directly the well-known institutes for recruitment. MCAs are generally considered for jobs in the software field- programming, system analysis and designing etc. IT industry is growing very fast and having good job potential. Due to growing complexity of the specialized tasks, those with advanced skills and experience may find ample job opportunities in IT and IT enabled services.

I gave my IIT-JEE exam this year and get AIR 804. The options available for me are computers in IIT Guwahati and chemical in IIT Mumbai. I am greatly interested in computers, infact I know java, c++, asp. cgi/perl,JSP etc. I am also a sun certified java programmer (SCJP) and gave this exam when I was in 9th standard and qualified with 98% marks. But many people are of the opinion that branch is not that important and I should choose IIT Bombay instead of IIT Guwahati. Please guide me. I am interested in doing PG in computers from a US university after IIT. Can you provide me a source of placement data of computers field of IIT Guwahati including highest salary in computers, average salary and foreign companies, which recruited students. Any help would be greatly appreciated?

I think that you should opt for computer technology in IIT Guwahati because of your been interest in this field. You have already gained skills in this area, which may be beneficial to you in further studies. Computer Industry in expanding very fast and have got good job potential. As per NASSCOM strategic review, 2006 more than 8,50,000 IT jobs will emerge over next 4 years. This forecast is based on the trends that have been observed over the past few years. All you need are the latest skills. Every IIT has got a placement cell from where you may have information regarding salary placement and other matters. you may get the detailed information from the placement cell, however, salary alone should not be the criteria for choosing a branch. It is more important that you have job satisfaction and like the work entrusted to you.

What are the career opportunities in ecommerce? And which are the institutes offering ecommerce courses?

E-Commerce, or Electronic Commerce, is a general term for any type of business, or commercial transaction, that involves the transfer of information across the Internet. Web site design and development, Content Development, Web Programming and Application Development, Database administration and Webmaster are careers in e-commerce. Each of these requires different skills set and qualifications as per the roles to be played. Professionals from the traditional areas like Business Administration, Consultancy, Finance, etc and in retail management are also in demand for e commerce jobs. You could go through any of the business schools to take up these jobs or you may find e commerce integrated into MBA programmes and some business schools offer MBA in E-business. You need to assess where your skills lie and train accordingly.

Dear Sir, I am a first class commerce graduate and I want to pursue "ASCL Certified Cyber Crime Investigator" from Asian School of Cyber Laws. Please tell me how valid is this couse and also about career prospects after completing this?

Asian School of Cyber Laws. Please tell me how valid is this course and also about career prospects after completing this? The course content is good but whether you would get a job related to this would depend essentially upon your aptitude for this type of work and how proficient you are in assimilating the learning from this programme. You must understand that a prospective recruiter may prefer graduates with computer science and IT related background. Career prospects from this programme are as mentioned in the brochure about the programme. You may talk to the alumni of the ASCL to get an idea of where they stand especially in the context of those who are from similar academic background.

I have completed MCA in june this year i have secured 63%.But i could not get the good job because the lack of experience. Now some of my friends suggested to join the advance courses in MainframeAnd AS400.So can you suggest me which course i join. Avinash Singh pune

Ideally, you should not be very choosy about your first job when you are finding it hard to get a job. Building up work experience related to your qualification is far more useful than pursuing additional courses, because you may again end up with the same situation of not getting a good job. It would be more advisable to take up the kind of jobs available at this time for MCAs and then add value to your resume with additional training along the lines in which IT recruiters indicate more choice of jobs or relevant to the work experience you are acquiring. Suggestions are indicative.

I am short listed for the FPGDST courses in CDAC Mumbai (Khargar) . I want to know that what are the job opportunities available after pursuing the course. I am a B-Tech in computer science (2005). After that I have done Associate ship in Information Science form NISCAIR (CSIR). Is campus placement provided by C-DAC after the course completion? Should I go for the course or looking for a job will be better option (I have one year of exp. In proposal /SRS/ report writing but no exp. In the software programming)? Waiting for your valuable guidance?

You can successfully conduct a job search on the basis of your qualifications and work experience. It would be advisable for you to consider what you can do and look for jobs accordingly, rather than focus on what you don't know. However, if you are keen to take up FPGDST at CDAC then it would give you the base to become a good software professional equipped with the capabilities to understand the fundamentals irrespective of the programming methodology, language, the development platform, the software tools, etc. You can get a view of the past years' recruiters on

More information is given on the link http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcse/default.mspx. CCNA stands for Cisco Certified Network Associate Exam. The CCNA exam is the qualifying exam available to candidates pursuing a single-exam option for the Cisco Certified Network Associate CCNA certification. The exam will certify that the successful candidate has important knowledge and skills necessary to select, connect, configure, and troubleshoot the various Cisco networking devices. Log on to http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/current_exams/640-801.html for further inputs. There is no competitive admission process. You either sign up with a training institute that trains you for the concerned exam or you study on your own with the content of the exam and appear for it. Most of such certifications are valuable when backed by relevant experience or suitable academic background.

I have experience of 19 years in Logistics Activities and Management in defence services. I have worked in Fox-Pro database for five years and have an overview of programming in the same. I am PG Economics, PGDCA and presently pursuing MBA in Finance stream. I just wanted to know that apart from these if I go for Oracle Certified Professional, will this complete qualification open the gateways for international job prospects or MNC in India, or any other thing which can add weightage regarding my future career prospects ? Dr. Reena

If you go for IT Certified course conducted by ORACLE, it shall help you in getting a foothold in the It SECTOR. However, considering your experience in the logistics and the qualification of MBA (Finance) that you are pursuing right now, opting for a managerial position in the Retail/Logistics sector should be a better option for you since these sectors are showing the promise of good growth rates in the coming years.

Sir, i had done B.COM from IGNOU and 3 years Diploma in Software Engg. from NIIT, and with that iam doing job in Software Company. now, i want to persue MBA so please guide me in which stream i should go for, as MBAIT would be the right choice. also tell me after doing MBAIT in which type of companies we can apply as a manager and whether there is a scope in the stream or not. MBA in Information Technology seems to be the right option for you considering your qualification in IT. I m M.Sc physics in year 2002 from D.U., but due to civil service exam I had not chose any job that time now I feel I have to start something. plz suggested me some courses either in software or in any other field?

You could apply for MCA or MBA, but take up a job while you try for the entrance exams for these courses. You could also take the Patent Agent's exam by the Patent Office of India and work for a law firm or a company which requires a patent examiner/ agent. You can also look for teaching positions in schools for their higher secondary classes or for coaching classes for engineering/ medical entrance tests for which physics is a component. The idea is not to stretch your unemployed status further while you decide and apply for higher education. There may be software jobs you can take up even now along with relevant short course/ certification alongside. You need to talk to a recruiter to get a clearer idea of your potential. Suggestions are indicative.

dear sir/madam , i am jaiveer ,passed b.sc. with subject combination (physics,maths.,electronics)(57.86%),(2006),now i want to do mca , i have heard from someone that if an individual doesn't have 1st division throughout then there are placement problems . pls clear my confusion . i am interested in mca but my friends saying mba would be best. pls advise me . also tell me what will be best mca from university departments or private affiliated college. pls consider that i want to take admission in haryana state. my future will depend on your advise.please help me soon

As it happens, this is an area of concern when it comes to campus placements, as most recruiters wish to consider / shortlist candidates who have a consistent first class background from class 10th onwards. However, the placement office does make the effort to guide you regarding the best approach and convince prospective recruiters about the potential of such students. What is in your hands right now is to aim for entry into a reputed institution. If you can put in a good effort and secure admission to a prestigious institution then you should focus on doing very well in the programme to negate the earlier stumbling blocks. Whether it is MBA or MCA, the situation regarding earlier academic background does surface. Institutions offering MCA through a very competitive admission procedure and an established campus placement programme are the most suitable choices.
