Sir,I am residing in Gurgaon with my husband.I have done B.Pharm from B.I.T Mesra in 2007 & now want to do MBA from a good college.I got 607.5 score in MAT & I have received invitation from various colleges like RCM Bhubaneswar,AMITY Noida,Christ College Bangalore,IBAT Bhubaneswar,Asia Pacific Institute of Management New Delhi & New Delhi Institute of Management.Plz. guide me which one is the best regarding placement in HR mainly. Is this good for my carrier?

At employment News, we try to avoid giving grading or comparing different institutes. The selection of an institute is often best dictated by the personal circumstances of the candidate himself. However, from the given details, choiceof AMITY, NOIDA and Asia Pacific Institute of Management New Delhi appears appropriate. You must go through the fine print of the prospectuses and websites of each of the institutes to form an opinion about the past track record regarding placements.

I have done mine Graduation in INDUSTRIAL MICROBIOLOGY and how got selected in MBA (BIOTECHNOLOGY) at PUNE UNIVERSITY and also at NIT RICHY, MBA. Now I am confused to whether join specialized MBA-Biotechnology at PUNE UNIVERSITY or to join General MBA with finance and IT at NIT TRICHY please help me out?

As per your academic qualifiction, you may choose MBA (Biotechnology). But after completing MBA (Biotech), your job opportunities will be confined to this particular field. In case you go for General MBA, your area of employment will get windened. Specialisation in finance and IT will make you eligible for jobs in Insurance, banking, Financial Institutions, Stock Exchanges, SEBI, and Corporate Houses. These days there is a great demand for persons trained in financial area. In central and State Govts, there are ample job opportunities for finance people. Keeping in view your interest, aptitude and scope you may decide which one would be more beneficial to you.

Q. I have just completed my MBA (corporate management) from Institute of management sciences, university of Lucknow. My area of specialization is personnel management. I want to know that apart from consultancies, what options are available for me regarding Human resource Jobs, as I have no experience, the reputed organizations such as HAL etc. specify that minimum qualification for applying is 60%, my % 56.66, but I have also done MA (Hindi Literature) with 69.57% marks. Can I am eligible for appearing in exam of HAL etc on the basis of my MA percentage?

You are not eligible for appearing in exam. conducted by HAL on the basis on your% of marks in M.A. (Hindi) they require 60% marks in PG program of the concerned area. Human resource management (HRM) is about acquisition, development, utilization and management, performance and rewards, of people in organizations. It is known by various names: Personnel management, human resource development and manager- employee relations. Even today, for a layman, the role of an HR manager is not perceived more than a hiring and firing job. However, there is much more to HRM then mere recruitment and maintaining records of the employees. A HR manager basically functions at three levels: Industrial relations, personnel related functions and organization development, performance management, rewards and competency development. Emotional stability, high sense of responsibility, good communication skills, and team spirit are considered necessary in this profession. Job opportunities: any organization, private or public, which employs a large number of people requires the service of an HR professional to manage their affairs. Central/State Govt., public sector undertakings, corporate houses, hotels, banks and hospitals provide job opportunities to the HR Professionals.

National Instt. of fashion designing, Hauz Khas, New Delhi offers PG Prog. in management & PG Prog. in technology. Similarly other fashion institutes offer PG Programs. You may choose the institute and course as per your skills and interest. You may go for post-graduate program in marketing available at Y.M.C.A. I am diploma(mechanical)holder. I want to do any Management courses related to it. Is it possible ? Plz suggest me positively.

There isn't really a post graduate management course (MBA/ equivalent) open to diploma holders. Also, there is no specific management course for mechanical engineering graduates as such. The idea of pursuing a management course would be to diversify into management careers or to enhance growth prospects. The IITs, NITIE, etc offer management courses (master's level) targeted at engineering graduates and science postgraduates. Indicative examples.

sir, could u plz. tell me about mba biotech.where is mba biotech.n what is it's scope?what is d syllabus 4 entrance.may i know that mba biotech is better or m.sc.biotech?

MBA (Biotechnology)/ equivalent programme is offered by University of Pune, Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA), Ganeshkhind Road, Pune-411007 (www.dms.unipune.ernet.in), Amity University (www.amity.edu), SIES College of Management Studies, Navi Mumbai [www.siescoms.edu] and D Y Patil Institute of Management Studies ,Dr D Y Patil University, Navi Mumbai(www.dypatil.edu). Indicative examples. If you are inclined towards a scientific career related to teaching and research (academic or industrial) or clinical research type of jobs, doing M Sc would be a good idea. I am doing MSc. Criminology (final year). However I am interested in pursing MBA(HR) next year. But then sometimes I think of doing PG diploma in Business Administration from Annamalai University (Distance Education) this year simultaneously. So that I can take up some job next year, and with job I can do PG diploma in Human Resource side by side. Please tell me that PGDBA + PGDHRM will be eqivalent to MBA (HR). Kindly suggest me on this because mere PG degree in Criminology will not get me a good job and I want to start working soon?

A full time MBA (HR) or equivalent from a reasonably reputed business school would be better than distance education without any relevant work experience. If you want to start working, then take up a job in HR or in the corporate sector and then plan for a part-time or distance MBA after working for a couple of years.

I completed my graduation in B.Sc BIOTECHNOLOGY (Hons).now I want to do MBA but I am in a great dilema that whether to pursue for MBA BIOTECH MANAGEMENT or simple MBA .kindly tell me in which field i will have better future?

MBA helps you to try for jobs across all industries and sectors while MBA Biotechnology leads to placement in biotechnology and allied industries. You could choose the programme based on your personal priorities and preferences. However, the type of entrance test you have to take for admission to MBA Biotech and MBA are similar, so you can apply for both kinds of programmes if you are not sure about what you want. Depending upon your choice of institution choose the programme which you are offered at a more reputed institution.
