Hello sir,I am doing a diploma course in "value added products from food and vegetables" from IGNOU.I am graduate in arts.please tell me its future prospects.

You could read the prospectus to get an idea of how to project yourself for jobs after this diploma. In general, if the diploma is backed by some relevant work experience in the field, it would be easier to seek professional openings, but otherwise, it may facilitate jobs in sales and marketing, customer services in the food industry. 07/08/2009

The public sector under takings advertise their recruitment process in the prominent dailies and in the Employment News. Same goes for Central government jobs. The Staff Selection Commission, the Union Public Service Commission and the Railway Recruitment Boards are known for their annual recruitment exercises. State government recruitment through the State Public Service Commission and other authorities would be advertised either on the website of the same or in the local regional dailies. In general, recruitment to PSUs, state and central government jobs takes place through a process of written examination and interview. Some of the PSUs may shortlist suitable candidates for a technical/ professional interview if the minimum criteria of eligibility are highly selective and specialised. Software sector recruitment would either be advertised in the prominent dailies or you can also approach through recruitment consultancies or by visiting the careers page or link on the homepage of various software/ IT companies. Private sector recruitment could involve written tests and interviews or could be primarily through interviews and based on academic record and work experience (relevant). Most entry level recruitment in prominent private sector organisations takes place from the campuses of prominent professional institutions.(24.02.2009)
