Publications Division Organizes Workshop for Rural Children on ‘Azadi Meri Nazar Mein’

As part of its outreach activities to disseminate information and aware-ness about India's struggle for Independence, Publications Division organized a workshop on 24th July, 2018 at Jawahar Bal Bhawan, Mandi- a village on the outskirts of Delhi. Supported by Bal Bhawan (under the control of Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India), the workshop motivated village children to hone their creative skills. Around 40 children  wrote poems, slogans, small articles on the theme of 'Azadi meri nazar mein' (what I think about freedom).
Following the work-shop, these children were invited in a function organized at Publications Division's Book Gallery at Soochna Bhawan , New Delhi on 26th July, 2018,  where they presented their writings. Besides, the children also presented a small play on the theme of rights and duties of the citizens. Publications Division also presented gifts of books to the children.
The workshop and the programme at Soochna Bhawan were conceived and designed by Ms. Madhu Pant, well known children's writer and communicator and former Director, Bal Bhawan. The whole exercise was supported by Ms. Indrani Chaudhary, Deputy Director, Bal Bhawan, Mandi. Editor, Bal Bharti, Publications Division coordinated the entire exercise. The programme at Soochna Bhawan
was well attended by children, staff and the officers of Publications Division.
