Publications Division Participates in the 24th Delhi Book Fair; Wins Gold Medal for the Best Regional Language Display

 
In consonance with its rich legacy, Publications Division, participated in the 24th edition of Delhi Book Fair from August 25 - September 2, 2018 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Publications Division put up a rich display of its titles on History and Freedom Struggle, Art and Culture besides books on children and other subjects. The books brought out on Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee have been the focus of the stall put up by Publications Division. Hundreds of people thronged Publications Division's stall. There were also counters for the reputed journals and magazines published by the Division -Yojana, Kurukshetra, Ajkal, Bal Bharati, Employment News, Rojgar Samachar to disseminate knowledge and awareness in different fields.
In sync with its traditions, Publications Division launched a rich bouquet of 19 books in English, Hindi and regional languages which included biographies, arts and culture, heritage, freedom struggle and children's books. Shri Amit Khare, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting on August 30, 2018 released eight books including titles 'Ravindranath ki kala Sirashti', 'Bhakti: Uttar aur Dakshin Bharat ka Samanvya Sutra', 'Shruti aur Smiriti', 'Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar' (Kannada) and 'Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay' (Kannada). Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) and Dr. Rita Rani Paliwal, Secretary, Sasta Sahitya Mandal and Dr Sadhna Rout, Director General, Publications Division were also present during the occasion.
On 28 August 2018, a bouquet of 11 more books on Children's literature was released in the presence of Dr.  Madhu Pant, a well known author on children's literature, Shri Devendra Mewari, an eminent writer on popular Science & Science fiction and Dr Vasudha Gupta, Additional Director General, Publications Division. The books released included  'Dadi Maa ki Pati', 'Safar Suhana Swachhata Ka',  'Mai Hun Dost Tumhari Kavita' and 'Nivedita ka Naya Ghar aur Anya Kahaniyan'.
At the closing ceremony of the Delhi Book Fair on September 2, 2018, Publications Division bagged the gold trophy for the regional language display at its stall during the book fair. 
DPD stall was a place of huge attraction for its wide range of books on History, Freedom Movement, Art and Culture. It  provided Publications Division an opportunity to reach out to a wide segment of book loving
public and to get valuable feedback from them.      -EN
