Career Seekers Engage with Authors for Insightful Career Talks

'Career Calling - Opportunities for All' published by the Publications Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, garnered an overwhelming response at the New Delhi World Book Fair. The specially curated book on latest and upcoming career options available to the youth looking at diverse career pathways, resonated with students and job aspirants seeking guidance in their career journeys. The articles have been sourced from previous editions of Employment News.

On the sidelines of New Delhi World Book Fair, the Publications Division hosted the 'Authors' Corner,' on 15th February, 2024, bringing together the contributors of 'Career Calling' and a diverse audience of students, job aspirants, teachers, parents and guardians. The event aimed to foster direct connections between the audience and the authors, offering valuable insights into various career opportunities.

Dr. Anupama Bhatnagar, Director General of Publications Division, opened the Authors' Corner with a welcoming note, emphasising the significance of informed decision-making in career exploration. The distinguished panel of authors, including Dr. Nimish Kapoor, Scientist E at Vigyan Prasaar, Shri S B Singh, a seasoned Civil Services Coach, Ms. Nidhhi Prasad, a Career Counsellor and Psychologist, Dr. Shifa Shetty from the All India Institute of Ayurveda and Dr. Prateek Singh, entrance examination JEE/NEET/CUET coach, took the stage and shared diverse perspectives on career choices, spanning indigenous technologies, coaching strategies for civil services, insights into the AYUSH sector and guidance on navigating entrance exams. The audience actively participated, posing questions on how to do self-evaluation of strengths and weaknesses while selecting a career path, how to manage stress and negative thoughts and how to manage time effectively.
