Ministry of Tourism observes Swachhta Pakhwada

The Ministry of Tourism observed Swachhta Pakhwada from 16th - 30th April, 2017. During the period, officers and staff from the Ministry undertook cleaning of the in-house and tourist sites everyday during the period. In addition to this, the Ministry also conducted special cleaning inside the office premises as well as in the vicinity of the area around the office. All the staff members undertook thorough and intensive cleanliness work in their respective chambers halls etc.

All unusable electric and electronic equipments, broken wooden furniture, steel almirahs, glass shelves, Xerox machines, condemned ambassador car, damaged sofa sets, Air cooler were inspected and list prepared for enabling the Administration section to initiate auction proceedings.
On 18th April which was the third day of the Swachhta Pakhwada, cleanliness drive was organized at world heritage sites as the day marked the celebration of the World Heritage Day by UNESCO and also by the Archeological Survey of India (ASI). A high level team of 19 officers and staff , joined by the ASI staff members undertook cleaning operations at the historic Humayun's Tomb located at the Nizamuddin area of New Delhi.
