Ministry of Culture observes Swachhta Pakhwada

The Ministry of Culture observed Swachhta Pakhwada from 16th to 30th April, 2017 .The Pakhwada was aimed to spread awareness about the need and importance of cleanliness. During the period the Ministry took up various initiatives including the use of 100% e-office mechanism, setting up of permanent mechanism for cleanliness in all organisations, three Akademies to ensure activities in Music, Dance and Drama to spread awareness about Swachhta. Various autonomous, attached and subordinated organisations under the Ministry of Culture also undertook a number of activities related to the Swachhta Pakhwada. Cleanliness drives were regularly organised by these organisations in and around their respective organisations' premises. Swachh Bharat Marathon was organised by Central University of Tibetan Studies, Varanasi (an autonomous Buddhist Institution under the Ministry of Culture) on 26th April. The Students of the institute also organized a Jan JagranYatra to create awareness on cleanliness & its importance.
An exhibition of students painting on Swachhta was displayed by Rampur Raza Library to promote the spirit of  "My Clean India"  and "Swachh Bharat". A Sit and Draw competition on Swachh Bharat was organised among school children by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies, Kolkata(an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India).
