Discussion Programme on Gandhiji's Legacy

 

As the nation commemorates the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Publications Division, in collaboration with Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, (IGNCA), organized a panel discussion on "Gandhi Darshan: Prakashan Aur Lok Sampark" in New Delhi on October 5, 2018. The discussion was chaired by Shri Ram Bahadur Rai, noted author-journalist and the Chairman, IGNCA, Shri Annamalai, eminent Gandhian scholar and Director, National Gandhi Museum, Smt. Varsha Das , well known author - editor and former Director, National Gandhi Museum and Dr. Sachidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA participated in the discussion. The participants were of the view that Gandhiji had extraordinary power and capacity to communicate and connect with the masses. He was a great communicator who sent across his message of Truth and Non Violence not only to India but across the world. His ideas of harmony and peace coexistence and his concern for the last man continue to guide us to achieve a just and equitable society. The panelists suggested that small books may be published and propagated covering many aspects of Gandhiji's life and words. The panelists commended the role of Publications Division in bringing out the collected works of Mahatma Gandhi in print as well as in e-version and also many other valuable publications on Ghandhiji.
