Publications Division at the World Book Fair – 2018

In consonance with its rich legacy in the Indian print industry, Publications Division participated in the World Book Fair, organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 6th - 14th January 2018. Publications Division endeavored to put up a rich display of its diverse publications, ranging from Gandhian literature, arts and culture, national freedom movement, biographies of national leaders, flora and fauna, science and economy, Rashtrapati Bhavan series and other areas of Indian panorama. To supplement the efforts, the Division also publishes reputed magazines \n different spheres -Yojana, Kurukshetra, Ajkal, Bal Bharati, Employment "News, Rojgar Samachar to disseminate knowledge and awareness in different fields.
In sync with its traditions, Publications Division launched a rich bouquet of 15 books in English, Hindi and Urdu which included biographies, children's books, and publications in collaboration with prominent publishing house -Sastha sahitya Mandal. The Publications Division book stall was inaugurated by Shri N.K. Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting who also participated in the book launch function held subsequently. On the inaugural day (06 January 2018), books launched included ' Matdaan me Vishwas' which gives a broad perspective of the election system in India, the largest democracy in the world;   'Bhartiya Samvidhan aur Aam Aadmi* which explains the Indian constitution with reference to the common man; Indian Dance : Through a Critic's eye, a selection of 36 articles written by the renowned dance critic Smt Leela Venkataraman and Humare Sanskar aur Sanskrit!, which talks about the importance of value based upbringing. The books were released by Shri Umesh Sinha, Sr. Deputy Election Commissioner and Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) in the presence of DG, Publications Division, Dr. Sadhana Rout. Secretary, Information & Broadcasting Shri N.K. Sinha also graced the occasion.
On 8 January 2018, a bouquet of 11 more books was released in the presence of Dr. Umakant Mishra, former Principal DG, PIB and Dr. Rita Rani Paliwal, Secretary, Sasta Sahitya Mandal. This bouquet comprised biographies of national leaders, children's literature and books under co-publication arrangement with Sasta Sahitya Mandal.
The fair provided Publications division an opportunity to outreach to a wide segment of book loving public and to get valuable feedback from them.
