Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Gets Huge Response from Youngsters across the Country

The youngsters of the country have given a huge response to the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship programme. Taking a step forward for Swachhata Abhiyan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his recent 'Mann Ki Baat' programme, had announced 'Swachh Bharat Summer Internship - 100 Hours of Swachhata' in association with the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation for the youth. Under the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship program, young change-makers have come together to spread the message of Swachhata across various districts and communities in the country. Numerous activities are being organised under the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship program with an objective to communicate the need for safe and hygienic sanitation as a habit. The program has been aimed at developing skill and felicitating orientation of the youth with regard to sanitation and give them an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the Swachhata Abhiyan. All participants will be given a Swachh Bharat Internship Certificate on completion of their internship and its approval by the parent institution. The best three interns/ teams will be recognised at the college, university, state and national levels. The government has extended the last date to apply for Swachh Bharat Summer Internship. While the earlier date was May 15, the last date has now been extended to June 15. Students and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan youth can sign up for the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship by logging on to the portal www.sbsi.mygov.in.
