Release of India Bharat 2016 and launch of Digital Employment News

MR. Arun Jaitley, the Minister of Information & Broadcasting, Finance and Corporate Affairs released India/Bharat 2016 on 18th February, 2016. Along with the release of print version, Mr Jaitley also simultaneously released e-books of India/Bharat 2016 on e-commerce platform. He also launched the digital Employment News and subscription payment facility for both electronic and print versions of Employment News through Bharatkosh portal of Ministry of Finance. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Jaitley said, the kind of details India 2016 carries, makes it a must-read for everyone, particularly for journalists and politicians. He said India 2016 will be of great use for his colleagues in Parliament and will be an asset to every home in India.
Mr. Jaitley said, with the restructuring of Publications Division, there has been a paradigm shift to digitise various Government Publications in order to reach out to online readers globally. The digital version of the books would be 25% cheaper than printed versions and would help in saving paper consumption, he said. Mr.Jaitley termed the Annual Reference Book, an asset and a repository of information to all stakeholders. He  pointed out that the objective of technology was to provide solutions to complicated issues. The Minister further said, the Bharat Kosh portal would enable direct transfer of money received from the sale of journals to the Consolidated Fund of India. The online payment has been facilitated through Bharat Kosh, Non Tax Receipt portal of Ministry of Finance.
Sale of printed version of the prominent books of the Publications Division through e-commerce platform Flipkart was also launched. The Reference Book India 2016 along with forty nine other important titles would now be available on Flipkart.
 
The digital versions of the India & Bharat 2016 and select Publications Division e-books would also be available for online purchase on Kobo platform for online readers.
 
Mr Sunil Arora, Secretary I&B said the India Reference Book was a signature book  brought out by Publications Division. It was a ready reference for academicians and students preparing for various competitive examinations and is a must read for authentic and credible information about India.
 
Special Secretary J. S Mathur, Director General (M&C) PIB, Frank Noronha  and the Additional Director General, Publications Division Dr. Sadhana Rout were among those present on the occasion.
