Publications Division Participates in
London Book Fair, 2018
Publications Division participated in the London Book Fair, 2018, which is an annual global event for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels. It brings over 25,000 members of the global publishing direct access to customers, content and emerging markets all together under one roof for three days. The London Book Fair was held this year from 10-12 April, 2018. A delegation from Publications Division led by DG, Publications Division participated in the event.
Selected important publications of Publications Division were displayed at the London Book Fair which included publications on Gandhian literature, including Collected Works of Mahatma Gandhi (CWMG), Builders of Modern India series, Cultural leaders of India series, books on art, painting, Women Empowerment, Environment & Development, Children books, books on Rashtrapati Bhawan and journals– ‘Yojana’ and ‘Kurukshetra’.
A major attraction of Publications Division’s stall was the space and publicity given to the coffee table books brought out by Publications Division that included Rashtrapati Bhavan Series, books on Supreme Court of India and books on Election Commission of India. These coffee table books provided a great visual appeal to the stall. Business visitors were able to get a thorough view of the wide range of books brought out by Publications Division that includes very inexpensive books starting from Rs.100/- to premium coffee table books which facilitated interested publishers and local book sellers/ service providers to be in a position to provide a wide variety of publications to their prospective buyers.
Publications Division’s stall was visited by important dignitaries including officers from the High Commission, Nehru Centre and book lovers. Director-General, Publications Division held meetings with officials of the High Commission, Nehru Centre and large number of publishers to explore the possibilities of making available, the rich variety of titles published by Publications Division to the Indian diaspora in UK and other neighbouring countries.
